Johari Window Concept

Johari Window Concept
I learned about this concept yesterday in my communications class. It sounded interesting so i though that i would share it with you guys. The concept is pretty basic. The first is things you and other people know about you. The second is things that are known to you but not to others. The third is things that others know about you or perceive to know that you are not aware of. Finally, the last one is things that are unknown to both you and others. it can be used for anything such as relationships with people when it comes to communication and trust.

Maya's song, Girl Meets World fanfic

The camera was set to record. She was ready. It was going to be difficult, but she’s going to do it. It’s time to let all her feelings out. Even if no one would listen when the video comes out. She’s Maya Hart and she’s not afraid of anything at least until that’s how it used to be.
She sat up straight on her chair, took a deep breathe and spoke,
“ Hi, My name is Maya Hart. This is very weird for me because it’s the first time i’m speaking about this to someone besides Riley, who’s my best friend by the way. Um ok. here we go. I have feelings for Lucas. I tried everything to not have feelings for him because Riley liked him first. That’s what’s you’re suppose to right? Step back to protect your best friend’s feelings. My mantra is Hope is for suckers. At least for me it is. You hope for things, you get disappointed. Anyways, I wanted to explain myself first before i do this.” This song is called White Horse by Taylor Swift”. Since i’m being honest, I actually listen to country songs, i love them because each one of them tells stories. I think this one speaks to me the most given my current situation".
She strummed the chords on her guitar and started to sing.
Say you’re sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
The days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known

[Chorus:]
I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale,
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down,
Now it’s too late for you and your white horse to come around

Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance
My mistake, I didn’t know to be in love
You had to fight to have the upper hand
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know

And there you are on your knees,
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I’m so sorry

Cause I’m not your princess, this ain’t a fairytale,
I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rear view mirror disappearing now
And it’s too late for you and your white horse
Now it’s too late for you and your white horse to catch me now

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it’s too late
To catch me now
She finished the song while wiping the tears from her eyes.
“ I’m sorry for getting emotional, um thanks for watching, Until Next time.
She stops the camera, then uploads the video online.
All credit for White Horse goes to Taylor Swift.

Girl Meets World : Lucaya

As you can tell from the title, I ship lucas and maya from the show Girl Meets world. Girl meets  texas parts 1 and 2 aired these last two days. I saw part 3 already yesterday on the WatchDisney app and i'm disappointed with the third part. The writers used Maya as a plot device for Riley and Lucas's relationship. Maya, who has feelings for Lucas since the beginning, her feelings are disregarded completely in the third one. The focus is only on Riley's feelings towards Lucas. I'm going to put some quotes that Maya has said in season 1 and season 2.
" I'm fine believing that nothing much is going to happen to me. Otherwise I'm full of hope. You hope for things you get disappointed".- Season 1, Episode 7
" I'm always okay- Season 1, Episode 13
" He doesn't want to go out with me, He's not going out with me. He's never going out with me" - season 1, episode 20
"Of course, I like you.- Season 2, episode 21.
With the first three quotes, Maya has convinced herself that Lucas is never going to like her the way he does Riley. In the last one, she finally confesses her feelings, this is the first time that she's vulnerable around him. To have this moment with him, and then have it not mentioned at all in the last part is horrible. Maya's feelings are important, she feels with her whole heart. Protect Maya Hart. She's not Riley, She's her own person with her own feelings. Please do not use her feelings as a stepping stone for Riley and Lucas's relationship. It's not fair to her character to have her given hope, to then have it taken away from her.
Due to this, I have made a playlist for Lucaya.

Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

i'm going to be honest. The only two things I knew about this book was that it was a beauty and the beast retelling and that fairies were involved. Now throughout reading this book, there was a lot of hype surrounding it in compared to Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass series. So I went into this book with low expectations. I was surprised, i ended up enjoying it more than I thought i would. On to the characters, Feyre was an interesting character because most of what she does, she does to provide for her family. Also, the fact that the author chose to make Feyre illiterate, when she could have easily made her be able to read and write. I liked it because it showed an internal struggle in Feyre, she wants to learn it herself but she struggles with it. While I admire Feyre's courage, determination, and loyalty to her family. there were some parts that i felt could have been expanded more. For instance, the relationship between her and Tamlin it seemed that at some points of the book their scenes together felt rushed. Also, the sexual assault scene i did not like how it was handled. Basically, Tamlin tells Feyre not to come out of her room after dark, she does anyways, and he bites her neck. Next day, she feels that it's her fault and she starts to enjoy him doing that. I'm sorry but that does not do it for me. Attacking someone is not romantic, it's assault. I was willing to look her this because of the genre it's a fantasy. When it came to the curse, i was curious to see how they were going to set it up. The curse is not emphasized until the middle towards the end of the book. During this scene, Alis has the nerve to say to Feyre that she was stupid because he could have saved Tamlin. Um most of the first half of the book is her being told about the court, learning about Tamlin and the royal Court, having conversations with him. Not once did he ever mention the curse and Feyre didn't even know about it. So technically, it's their fault because Feyre didn't even know the curse exited. Overall, i liked the ending, it confused me a little bit because of the whole high fae thing. They briefly mention about how to become one, but they don't mention it again. (view spoiler)

The Next Together Book Review

The Next Together by Lauren James

The Next Together Review

Loved this book! It was incredible, it had everything that i wanted from the romance to the different time periods. I love how each time period had it's own story line with the characters. Speaking of the characters, Kate and Matt were amazing in every time period. I think my favorite time period would have to be the 2019 time period because they were a happily married couple. Also, I enjoyed the layout of the book because it included articles, letters, maps, even websites and links. it really makes you feel part of the story. The ending left it open for a sequel and I just found out there is going to be one, called The Last Beginning. I loved this book so much, Thank you Lauren James for writing this amazing book! I can't wait to read the sequel when it comes out.
I highly recommend this book, 5 stars.
